I Got Interviewed by an Anime Girl (And Promised to Go Full Avatar Next Time)

One of the more unique interviews I’ve done recently, and that’s saying something.

Rob Roman invited me onto VRC DJ Live, which he created. Rob is a genuinely great DJ and radio personality who’s been building something really cool on Twitch as Rob Roman’s Voice, and now he’s got this live interview show that happens entirely inside VRChat. His interviewer avatar is an anime girl. I am still very much flesh.

We ended up talking for about two hours. Giorgio, the music industry, disco, djdeck.io, the album, VR culture. Rob is a great host and it just kept flowing. At some point it started to feel like I was on Space Ghost Coast to Coast or the old Max Headroom show. Surreal in the best way.

We didn’t get to everything, so I promised him a Part 2. And I committed to this on camera: next time I’m going in. Full avatar. No more flesh.
